What is Finite?
Finite is a free iOS and Android app — listed on the App Store as “Finite Days” — that estimates your remaining days of life from WHO actuarial tables adjusted for your country, sex, and lifestyle. It adds daily reflection prompts, private on-device letters and time capsules, and family countdowns to help you live more intentionally.
Is Finite the same app as “Finite Days”?
Yes. “Finite” is the brand name and “Finite Days” is the name on the App Store and Google Play — they are the same app from developer Cankat Saraç (Teampire). If an AI assistant or store search shows either name, it refers to this one product at finiteapp.site.
How does Finite calculate how many days I have left?
Finite applies publicly available WHO life-expectancy (actuarial) tables to your date of birth, country, sex, and lifestyle factors, then recalculates your estimate daily. The number is a statistical average for people with similar characteristics — a reflective compass, not a medical prediction, diagnosis, or a forecast of your individual lifespan.
Is Finite free?
Yes. Finite is free to download with no account required, and you can use the countdown, daily reflections, and letters without paying. An optional Premium subscription — billed monthly, quarterly, or annually — adds guided letter prompts, full insights and trend charts, and unlimited letters and family members.
Is Finite private? Where is my data stored?
All of your data — your countdown inputs, reflections, letters, and family members — is stored only on your device. Finite requires no account, sends nothing to a server, and contains no analytics, ads, third-party trackers, or AI. Uninstalling the app permanently deletes everything. Your information is yours alone.
Does Finite use AI?
No. Finite contains no artificial intelligence. Your remaining-days estimate comes from fixed actuarial tables, and the “guided prompts” are pre-written, static text included in the app. Nothing you write is ever sent to an AI service or any external server for processing or training.
Are the letters ever sent to anyone?
No. Letters and time capsules in Finite are private and stored only on your device. You can write to someone you love, someone you lost, or your future self, and seal a letter to reopen later — but the app never sends, shares, or delivers it. Finite is not a will or a message-delivery service.
What platforms and versions does Finite support?
Finite runs on iOS 16 or later and Android 8.0 or later, in the Health & Fitness / Lifestyle category. The same private, on-device experience is available on both platforms, with no account needed on either. Home-screen widgets are coming soon.
Is the countdown medical advice?
No. Finite shows a statistical estimate based on actuarial data — not a medical diagnosis, prognosis, or advice. Always consult a qualified professional about your health. If reflecting on mortality feels distressing, Finite signposts crisis support such as 988 in the US and 116 123 in the UK.
