FINITE — PRIVACY POLICY

Plain-Language Summary
- Finite (listed on the App Store as "Finite Days") works entirely on your device. Your date of birth, lifestyle and health inputs, reflections, letters, and family profiles are stored only on your phone and are never uploaded to us or anyone else.
- We do not require an account. We do not use analytics, advertising, tracking, or artificial-intelligence services.
- The only information that leaves your device is the subscription transaction handled by the app stores and our payments processor (RevenueCat) when you choose to buy Premium.
- This summary is for convenience only; the full policy below governs.
This Privacy Policy covers both the Finite mobile app and the finiteapp.site website. Where a section applies to only one, we say so.

1. DATA WE COLLECT AND WHY
1.1 Information You Provide During Onboarding (App)
To generate your personalized estimate, you provide the following. All of it stays on your device.

1.3 Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect your name or email address.
- We do not collect precise GPS location.
- We do not collect biometric identifiers.
- We do not collect photos, contacts, or media.
- We do not use analytics SDKs or advertising SDKs.
- We do not use artificial-intelligence or machine-learning services of any kind (see Section 3).
- We do not run crash-reporting tools that transmit your data to third-party servers.
1.4 Website Data (finiteapp.site)
The website is a static marketing and legal-information site. It does not ask you to log in or submit personal information, and we set no cookies and run no analytics or advertising trackers. Two routine technical processes apply:
- Hosting logs. Our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically records standard server-access information (such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested) for security, abuse-prevention, and reliability. These logs are processed by Vercel as our hosting provider and are not used by us to profile or identify you.
- Web fonts. The site renders display typography using Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser may request the font files from Google's servers, which can expose your IP address to Google. We use no other Google services on the site. See Google's privacy policy linked in Section 5.
If you email us (e.g., dev@teampire.uk), we receive the contents of your message and your email address solely to respond to you.
2. HOW YOUR DATA IS STORED
All information in Sections 1.1 and 1.2 is stored exclusively on your device using the platform's local storage. It is never transmitted to our servers, never uploaded to the cloud, and never synchronized across devices.
This architecture means:
- No account is required to use Finite.
- No server-side breach of ours can expose your information, because we do not hold it.
- We cannot access your data, even if legally compelled, because we do not possess it.
- Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all of your data.
The only exception is your subscription status, processed by RevenueCat and the app stores (see Section 5).
3. NO ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE; NO OFF-DEVICE PROCESSING OF YOUR CONTENT
Finite contains no artificial-intelligence or machine-learning features. The app's "guided letter prompts" and reflection prompts are pre-written, static text included with the app. Nothing you write — no reflection, letter, family profile, or health input — is sent to any AI service, language model, or external server for processing, training, or any other purpose. Your words remain on your device, full stop.
4. LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING (GDPR / UK GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the legal bases are:

Because the special-category data stays on your device and we never receive it, you act as the sole holder of your own health information. You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting the data in Settings or by uninstalling the app.
5. THIRD PARTIES
5.1 RevenueCat (Subscription Management)
When you purchase Premium, RevenueCat processes transaction identifiers, subscription/entitlement status, platform identifiers (Apple/Google), and a device identifier associated with your subscription. 5.2 Apple App Store / Google Play
Your in-app purchases are processed by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies:
5.3 Vercel and Google Fonts (Website Only)

5.4 No Other Third Parties
We do not use advertising networks, analytics platforms (Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude, etc.), social-login providers, cloud-storage providers, AI/LLM providers, or external crash-reporting services.
6. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Finite is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and the app enforces a minimum age of 13 during onboarding. For users in the EEA/UK, the minimum age is 16 unless verifiable parental or guardian consent has been obtained. Because all data is local to the device, a parent or guardian can permanently delete it by uninstalling the app. If you believe a child has provided information, contact dev@teampire.uk.
7. YOUR RIGHTS
7.1 Rights for All Users
- Access: View everything you entered, any time, in the app's Settings.
- Deletion: Use Settings → Delete My Data, or uninstall the app. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
- Correction: Update your profile data any time in Settings.
- Portability: Because all data is on your device, you already hold a complete copy.
7.2 EEA / UK Residents (GDPR / UK GDPR)
You may withdraw consent, object to or restrict processing, and lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (e.g., the ICO in the UK, the CNIL in France, the BfDI in Germany, the AEPD in Spain). Because processing is local, you exercise most of these rights directly by editing or deleting data on your device.
7.3 California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)
California residents have the right to know, delete, correct, and to limit the use of sensitive personal information. The health and lifestyle inputs you provide are "sensitive personal information" under the CPRA; they remain on your device, and we do not sell or share your personal information (as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA) for cross-context behavioral advertising or any other purpose. California residents also have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — a right that is effectively moot here, because we never sell or share it. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. To make a request, contact dev@teampire.uk.
7.4 Do Not Track
Because we operate no tracking infrastructure, there is nothing to track. The website honors your browser's privacy preferences by default by deploying no trackers.
8. HEALTH DATA — SPECIAL NOTICE
Finite collects health-related information (medical conditions, lifestyle factors, biological sex) for the sole purpose of generating an actuarial estimate. This information:
- Is never transmitted off your device.
- Is not used to train AI or machine-learning models (we use none).
- Is not shared with insurers, employers, advertisers, or any third party.
- Does not constitute a medical record.
- Cannot be used against you by us, because we never receive it.
The "days remaining" figure is a statistical estimate based on publicly available actuarial tables — not a medical diagnosis, prognosis, or assessment. See the Disclaimer and the Terms of Service for the full medical and wellbeing notice.
9. LETTERS AND FAMILY DATA
Letters are private and are never sent or delivered to anyone. Finite has no messaging, email, sharing, or delivery functionality for letters. A letter — including one addressed to a loved one or sealed as a "time capsule" — exists only on your device, for you. There is no scheduled delivery and no posthumous delivery. We never read, copy, transmit, or process the contents of your letters.
Family profiles you create (name, date of birth, biological sex) are likewise stored only on your device. You are responsible for having any necessary consent from the adults whose information you enter, or for being the parent/guardian of any minor whose information you enter, as set out in the Terms of Service.
10. DATA SECURITY
Although your data stays out of our reach, we take reasonable steps to support its security:
- Local storage relies on the platform's protected storage mechanisms.
- No unencrypted network transmission of your personal or health data occurs (there is no such transmission at all).
- The app requests only the system permissions it needs to function.
- We follow secure-coding practices and keep dependencies updated.
The security of your physical device and its lock screen is your responsibility. We recommend enabling device encryption and a strong passcode. See Sections 6.3 and 9 of the Terms of Service regarding the risk of data loss.
11. DATA RETENTION
You control retention entirely:
- Active use: Data persists until you delete it or uninstall the app.
- Uninstall: All app data is permanently and immediately deleted.
- Settings → Delete My Data: Clears all locally stored data without uninstalling.
We retain no copies of your app data on any server. RevenueCat and the app stores retain subscription records for as long as necessary to provide the subscription and comply with their billing and legal obligations. Website hosting logs are retained by Vercel for a limited period per their standard practice.
12. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS
Because your app data never leaves your device, there are no international transfers of your personal, health, letter, or family data. Subscription data (via RevenueCat and the app stores) and website hosting/font requests may be processed internationally under those providers' own data-transfer safeguards (including the EU Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable).
13. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes affecting the app will be communicated via an in-app notice on the next launch after the change. The "Last Updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance; if you do not accept a material change, discontinue use and uninstall the app (which deletes your data).
