FINITE — DISCLAIMER

Effective Date: June 2, 2026 Last Updated: June 2, 2026

This Disclaimer is part of, and incorporated into, the Terms of Service. It is provided prominently here for your awareness. Please read it before using Finite.

1. A Statistical Estimate — Not a Prediction

The "days remaining" number in Finite (listed on the App Store as "Finite Days") is a statistical estimate. It is produced by applying publicly available actuarial life-expectancy tables to the information you provide. It represents the average for a large group of people with broadly similar characteristics.

It is not a prediction of your life, and it is not a countdown of your actual time. Your real lifespan may be much shorter or much longer than the number shown. No model — including this one — can know when any individual will die.

2. Not Medical Advice; Not a Medical Device

Finite is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, prognosis, or treatment. It has not been reviewed or approved by the FDA, EMA, MHRA, or any health authority. Nothing in the App should be used to make, delay, or avoid any medical decision.

Always consult a qualified physician or healthcare professional about your health, medical conditions, or life expectancy. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something in Finite.

3. Not Legal, Financial, or Estate Advice

Finite does not provide legal, financial, insurance, or estate-planning advice. Do not make decisions about insurance, investments, retirement, wills, or estates based on the estimate. Consult an appropriately qualified professional.

4. Emotional Wellbeing and Crisis Support

Finite is about mortality. For some people, reflecting on death and seeing a personal estimate can be emotionally difficult. Finite is not a mental-health, therapy, or crisis service, and it cannot provide support in an emergency.

If you are struggling, you are not alone — please reach out right now:

  • United States — call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline)
  • United Kingdom & Ireland — call 116 123 (Samaritans)
  • European Union — call 112
  • Anywhere — find a helpline at findahelpline.com
  • In an emergency, contact your local emergency services immediately.

If the content of the App causes you distress, please stop using it.

5. Letters and Time Capsules Are Never Delivered

The letters and "time capsule" feature is a private, on-device writing tool. Letters you write — even those addressed to a loved one, to someone you have lost, or to your future self — are never sent, shared, or delivered to anyone. Finite has no delivery, messaging, or posthumous-delivery feature.

Finite is not a will, an estate plan, or a way to pass a message to another person. Because letters are stored only on your device with no backup or cloud sync, they may be permanently lost if your device is lost, reset, damaged, or replaced, and we cannot recover them. If you want someone to receive a message, arrange that through independent means (for example, a lawyer or a written will).

6. Your Data Stays on Your Device

Finite stores your inputs, reflections, letters, and family profiles only on your device. It uses no analytics, no advertising, and no artificial intelligence, and your content is never transmitted to us or any third party. See the Privacy Policy for full details.

7. Use at Your Own Risk

Finite is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. By using it, you accept that the estimate may be inaccurate, that the content about mortality may be emotionally challenging, and that on-device content may be lost. You use Finite voluntarily and at your own risk. The full disclaimers and limitation of liability are in the Terms of Service.
